Jyrkisen törmäJyrkinen's Bank
On the bank was the rune-singer's, Ontrei Malinen´s house and an old Orthodox chapel. It was from here that I.K. Inha photographed the "most northwestern part of Yläkuittijärvi Lake", the leaning Orthodox chapel, and Vaasila Kieleväinen's house on the other side of the strait.

The monument was designed by Martti Aiha, a sculptor and member of the Kieleväinen family. The monument was erected by the Kalevala Society and the Karelian Cultural Society
