On the path between Niskavaara and Ukonvaara in Kuhmo Saunajärvi village Lönnrot lost his way, because he could not obey a pieces of advice from a little boy who was guiding him. The journey was troubled further by the rain that soaked him thoroughly. After a short extra walk the right direction was found and he could continue his trip over the border into Russia.
