Kultalähde ( the Golden Spring ) in Kuhmo Rimmi village, situated quite near the border lies a mythological object, about which Christfrid Ganander wrote in his book published in 1789. Lönnrot stopped at this spring for a brief visit late on his fourth trip, when a poem singer from Akonlahti, Soava Trohkimainen guided him from Karelia to Finland.
