During
1997, Juminkeko took students and teachers from nearly all of Finland's
high schools and universities of art to Viena, the birthplace of
Finnish culture. Sculptors from the Academy of Fine Arts and ceramists
from the University of Art and Design (Helsinki) made several short-term
trips to the endangered village of Paanajärvi. In their final exhibition,
the participants responded to the village's fate. This is one artist's
view of the endangered village.
